I'm a little late but it's April and you know what that means... a new Christian value of the month! Our Christian value of the month for April is HOPE!
Why hope? Well, we very deliberately chose the value of hope at Easter time but it seems even more fitting this year.
Holy Week began yesterday with Palm Sunday. This was the day when Jesus rode into Jerusalem as a King, knowing what he was to face. As we face hard times today, we remember the hope that was found in Jesus then and will be found in Jesus now.
I really missed celebrating Easter with you all on Friday when we were meant to have our Easter service at the church. I'm sure Rev Ben missed all your smiling faces and hearing your beautiful singing but he has been very busy! Ben has been posting on the church's Facebook page (St Bartholomew's church Penn) at least once a day and has special services this week that you may want to watch. If you want to see what he's been up to, help him by making some Easter crafts or worship with him then ask your parents to show you the page on Facebook!
In these dark times let us thank God for the brave men and women who are working so incredibly hard to keep us safe, for Jesus and the hope that he brings and we thank God, as always, for the wonderful children of St Bart's.
All the staff are missing you loads but we have HOPE that this will pass and we will see your smiling faces soon!
