St. Bartholomew's year 3 and 4 dance class attended a dance festival on 5th March 2018 at The Wolverhampton Royal School. The children and staff had so much fun.

The children performed their dance to many schools which was a great achievement. Well done everyone! A big thank you to Mrs Beasley for running the after school club. We look forward to another dance festival next year.

Year 5 Hockey Festival

These very talented year 5 students took part in a hockey festival at Aldersley Stadium on 12.2.2018. It had been the first time for all of these students to take part in a hockey match against other schools. They did a fabulous job and the results reflected this. On the first game they drew 1-1 which was a wonderful result as it was a tough game. As their confidence grew they won the second match 5-1 with magnificent goals scored by Daniel Carter, Jobe Griffith Jones and Ishaan Behal. On the final game the children yet again won the match with a 3-0 victory. All the children showed great team work, skills and determination. They look forward to playing in the tournament in March 2018. Congratulations everyone.

Change 4 Life Festival

A massive congratulations to the Change 4 Life Team who took part in many different physical activities at Our Lady and St Chad's Secondary school. All the children showed determination, respect, honesty, self belief, team work, and challenge but most of all they had so much fun. I would also like to thank the leaders at the secondary school. You gave our children a wonderful experience and they can not wait to do it again. And last but not least, thank you to all the parents who were able to chauffeur the children to and from the event. Without you the children would have not been able to have the experience, so thank you so much.

Year 3 and 4 Multi Athletics

A huge congratulation to all the pupils who competed in the Year 3 and 4 Multi Athletics, at Our Lady and St. Chad Secondary school. You showed great determination and team work, and because of this you were placed 4th and 7th. A big well done to all of you.

Unified Ambassadors

These very talented young people have been on a Unified Ambassadors Leaders training day, where they had the opportunity to think and share ideas on how to develop physical activity at St. Barts. This week they have worked very hard and have organised a challenge week for KS1 and Early Years. This involved getting the young children active in a variety of challenging games and activities and most of all having fun. This has been a great success and the children have thoroughly enjoyed it. Well done for all your hard work and for making lunch times fun and active for all the children.

Indoor Athletics

Many congratulations to our Indoor Athletics Team who qualified for the City Finals. The Team had a fantastic competition and came 6th out of 77 Wolverhampton schools. We are all very proud of you. Well done!

Cross Country

The Grammar School hosted a great cross country competition where many schools in the borough took part. The children did very well as it was a grueling course in cold conditions. A very well done to all of you. You are super stars.

St Bart's v Springdale

The report below is written by Tom Collins

All of the players were nervous for this match especially the year 5 players as they had never played for their school team before. The opposition, Springdale, walked onto the pitch to start the match. St Bart’s started off the game with an early goal scored by Aman Gill who celebrated wildly, running to the crowd of parents and former St Bart’s pupils. After that goal it was very tough but we got through to half time with a 1-0 lead. Not long into the second half, Jude Webb scores in the bottom corner and 7 minutes later scores another to make it 3-0 to St Bart’s. As the final 10 minutes approached, our left midfielder Ruben Johal scored a great goal from the edge of the box although some players say it had bounced strangely. After that goal the match got tougher and Springdale had a few chances but could only score with the last touch of the game to make the final score 4-1 to St Bart’s.

Indoor Athletics

Our team entered an indoor athletics tournament that was held at Highfields. Seven schools in total entered the competition where children participated in a variety of indoor athletics events including the long jump, shuttle throw, speed bounce, relay and chest pass. We are extremely pleased and proud that our team came first and have now qualified for the Wolverhampton City Finals.
